About Us
The Consortium of Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations of Peace (CECSOP) is a legally registered organization, founded by forty-one(41) peace-focused registred civil society organizations in Ethiopia. CECSOP is dedicated to promoting peace, reconciliation, and conflict resolution through collaborative efforts and advocacy. CECSSOP is committed to creating a peaceful and inclusive society by engaging with various stakeholders, including government institutions and international organizations. The consortium aims to address the root causes of conflicts and build a culture of peace through grassroots initiatives and policy advocacy.
Since its establishment, the consortium has grown in membership and influence, committed to becoming a key player in advocating for peaceful resolutions and fostering dialogue among different stakeholders in Ethiopia through its member organizations.

Focus Thematic Areas
Conflict Prevention and Resolution
Conflict resolution: CECSOP focuses on conflict resolution through implementing early warning systems and mediation processes, as well as promoting non-violent conflict resolution strategies. By addressing conflicts peacefully, we aim to contribute to the building of a resilient and peaceful society for future generations. We also work to promote inclusivity and diversity in all aspects of our programming, recognizing the importance of representation and participation from all members of Ethiopian society. Through collaboration and partnership, we strive to create a more equitable and harmonious community for all.
Peacebuilding and Reconciliation
CECSOP focuses on peacebuilding and reconciliation in Ethiopia by fostering dialogue and trust among conflicting parties, addressing root causes of conflict, promoting understanding, advocating for inclusive decision-making, and supporting post-conflict reconstruction and community healing. By engaging all stakeholders, CECSOP aims to create a more stable and inclusive society for all Ethiopians.
Capacity Building and Collaboration
CECSOP works to strengthen the capacity of its members and community leaders to effectively address conflicts and promote peace.
